The original one-hour intermediate FORCE FITNESS® class includes 45-minutes of cardio and a 12 minute cool-down.
During the cardio segment, 11 major muscle groups most affected by exercise are conditioned. Clients hold one-pound hand weights, which increases caloric expenditure, heart rate by 5-10 beats per minute, oxygen consumption by about 5-15% and allows the client to make gains in muscle strength and endurance.
Easy-to-follow exercises are done for one-minute intervals to give clients time to connect to the movement, keep them focused, and give instructors time to circulate the workout area to check client's technique and offer support and motivation.
Unlike most group-fitness formats, FORCE FITNESS® is unique in the amount of time allotted to cool-down: 12 minutes. The cool-down is considered equally important to the overall workout as the cardio portion. This is because a muscle is able to perform to its maximum ability when it is flexible.
